After over two years of waiting, on the evening of September 26th 2014 it was about time.
The Diamond X-7000 tri-band antenna was mounted on the Shack of HB9ZZ and put into operation.
The delay caused by the mast assembly and the poor summer weather, came to an end.
After initial difficulties to decipher the quasi-English installation manual,
Stephan (HB9DDO) and Aldo (HB9EXQ) managed to complete the project "Vertical".
Together we managed to give HB9ZZ access to the bands 2m/70cm/23cm with this tri-band antenna.
For this purpose we use the currently borrowed TS-2000X transceiver with a Triplexer of HB9EXQ.
By using the low-loss cable Ecoflex 15+ and special solderless N-connectors,
the total attenuation could be held below 4dB on 23cm.
We hope to hear you on one of those bands!
Many thanks to Stephan (HB9DDO) for his spontaneous help and the AMIV for the sponsorship of the material!
